The Work Behind a Great Garment: The Complete Apparel OEM / ODM Process

A high-quality garment travels a precise, tightly controlled production route between the first design sketch and the day it is worn by the end consumer. Professional apparel OEM / ODM work is far more than sewing: it brings together materials science, ergonomics and supply chain management in a single discipline.

Development and sampling
STEP 01

Development and Sampling

  • Requirement Review and Design Proposal
    (Design & Consultation)
Working from your brand positioning, target market and budget, we lock down the product specification and advise on fabric selection and styling.
  • Sampling and Fitting
    (Sampling & Fitting)
Design drawings are turned into a proto sample, then a fit sample, then a PP sample, with repeated fittings and pattern corrections along the way.
Material sourcing and preparation
STEP 02

Material Sourcing and Preparation

  • Fabric and Trim Sourcing
    (Material Sourcing)
Sourcing of performance fabrics, 100% cotton and blended fabrics, together with trims such as zippers, buttons, care labels and polybags.
  • Quality Inspection and Shrinkage Testing
    (Fabric Testing)
Every fabric lot received must pass colorfastness, tensile strength and shrinkage testing, and is pre-shrunk so that finished garments hold their shape after washing.
Bulk production and manufacturing
STEP 03

Bulk Production and Manufacturing

  • Precision Cutting
    (Cutting)
Automated CAM cutting tables cut to the computer-generated marker, maximizing fabric utilization and holding cut parts to zero dimensional deviation.
  • Sewing and Assembly
    (Sewing & Assembly)
Production runs on a progressive line or a dedicated team system, joining cut panels, printed and embroidered artwork and trims into the finished garment.
  • Finishing and Secondary Processing
    (Finishing & Washing)
Covers specialty garment washes (stone wash, enzyme wash) and pressing, giving the garment its distinctive hand feel and appearance.
QC, packing and logistics
STEP 04

QC, Packing and Logistics

  • Strict Quality Inspection
    (Quality Control)
Inspection follows international AQL sampling standards, covering measurement checks and defect inspection, with garments passing through a metal detector (needle detector) for safety.
  • Hangtags and Packing
    (Packaging)
Folding, polybagging, barcode labeling and cartoning to your requirements.
  • Global Delivery
    (Shipping & Delivery)
Customs clearance and freight are handled together, with FOB, DDP and other delivery terms available, arriving on schedule at your nominated warehouse.
